Brad Barritt has signed a long-term deal with Saracens. The England centre follows his fellow internationals Owen Farrell and George Kruis in agreeing extended terms with the Premiership club.
Barritt, who has won 22 caps, joined Saracens in 2008. The 28-year-old recently returned to action after recovering from an ankle injury and looks set to be an integral part of England’s World Cup campaign.
“I am absolutely delighted to stay a part of the Saracens family,” he said. “I consider this place home and I am really looking forward to the years ahead with this fantastic club.
“This club has really come on in the past seven seasons. I am very grateful to all the coaches and the players alongside me for their help in pushing me to play for higher honours.”
Mark McCall paid tribute to Barritt, whose structure for club and nation has demonstrated a model of consistency. "Since Brad touched base at Saracens in 2008, he has formed into a standout amongst the most compelling players on both the club and global scene," the Saracens rugby chief said. "Without inquiry, he's the most focused individual that I've run over.
"In the seven years that he's been here, Brad has developed as a player and as an individual. He is a warrior, shows others how its done and is held in the highest regard by everybody at Saracens. He is a world-class player, and is a key figure for both club and nation."
Barritt and Saracens come back to residential activity against Northampton on Saturday in the wake of being thumped out of the European Champions Cup by their semi-last rivals Clermont Auvergne.
