Pakistan Waiting For Bangla Wash

Bangladesh took 15 years and 320 days to beat Pakistan, only for the second time. Now, they have won 2 in a row in 3-days time.Bangladesh deserved this win. It was a dominant display from them with both the bat and the ball. Tamim Iqbal was ferocious with the bat in the first 10 overs. He took a special liking to Ajmal and Riaz, who he smashed for 3 consecutive boundaries in successive overs. Even though Sarkar and Mahmudullah fell, Tamim's strokeplay helped Bangladesh quickly cross the 100-run mark. He was then joined by Rahim, his partner in that mammoth 178-run stand during the first ODI. Both of them played some crisp strokes, but Rahim was the aggressor in that partnership. Rahim showed great application as he played his innings with some great fluency. During the early phases of the Tamim-Rahim partnership, Tamim tried playing way too many shots and was beaten on a number of occasions. However, he stayed calm even though he was not getting his timing right and made sure that he became the third Bangladeshi cricketer to hit back-to-back hundreds in ODIs. Even though Rahim fell towards the end of their run-chase, Bangladesh chased the target down with 71 balls to spare.


Earlier in the day, the Pakistani lower-order was put under the pump after they were reeling at 77/5 at one stage. However, a good 40-plus score from Haris Sohail, plus fifties from Nasim and Riaz towards the end, lifted them to 239. Their bowling was also shoddy as they were thrashed to all corners of the park by Tamim and Co. Junaid, Rahat and Ajmal, all three picked one wicket each but it was never going to be enough.

Dan Cake series between Bangladesh and Pakistan 2-0. Last ODI will be play on Wednesday at Mirpur. If Bangladesh win the last match Pakistan will be the second big team to taste Bangla Wash.
